Snaggle Tooth

I can't believe that my little man lost his first top tooth!  I didn't think it would ever come out.  It has been loose for months.  He finally got up enough courage to let his daddy pull it.  The permanent tooth was already coming in under it!

Anna's Baby Shower

Today we showered my sweet friend, Anna, with gifts for her baby boy.  Since her husband, Kirby, is all into surfing and they are beach lovers we decided to have a surfer theme.  I have to say we went a little crazy with all kinds of cute stuff.  She was very happy and loved everything.  She was happy that some of her family from Charleston could be there.  Several of the first grade teachers that we work with were also there to celebrate with us.  Can't wait to see who little Kaden is going to look like. Will he be a little Kirby or a little Anna or a mixture of them both?  So much to look forward to!!

Anna is so darn cute pregnant!

Ethan's Awards Day

A few weeks ago Ethan had his award's ceremony at school.  He got two awards for the third nine weeks (Cooperation Lifeskill Award and Perfect Attendance).  He also got an award in class for finally passing his subtraction facts. He does not work well under pressure.  He knows his facts but does not like the clock.  I am so proud of his accomplishments in second grade.  He is loves Mrs. Stinson and enjoys going to school.  Thank goodness!!!

Chiefs 2B Baseball Camp

Ethan participated in the Chiefs 2B baseball camp again this year.  In this camp they work on the fundamentals of baseball and on Tuesday they played a game against each other.  It is the perfect time of year to do this camp.  The weather is beautiful and the kids enjoy doing a little something over spring break.  It was only 2 days from 9-12. Ethan enjoyed playing with his friends from school.

Lordy, Lordy, Look Who's 40!

Today is Curtis' 40th birthday!  The kids and I were very busy today preparing a VERY small surprise party!  We did ask his mom and dad to join us for dinner. We had a fiesta theme!  We prepared a Enchilada Lasagna, homemade guacamole and salsa.  The food was yummy.  McKinley even had Spanish music playing in the background.  McKinley is all about planning and organizing a party!  Earlier this week the kids and I went to the party store looking for 40th birthday decorations.  We got an "Over the Hill" banner, napkins, plates, a center piece and a crown.  The kids enjoyed picking everything out.  Curtis is such a simple man so I knew that he would be very happy just having dinner at home.  We may go out this weekend with some of our other family members to celebrate again.

So blessed to be married to such a loving man that always puts his family first.  We have been together almost half of those forty years.  We started dating when he was 22.  It's hard to believe how time flies!  I just pray that God will continue to watch over him and give him strength to be the Godly man that He has called him to be.

Spring Photos

Last week I did a spring photo shoot with the kids.  Each year I do an Easter card for family and friends.  These are some of the photos that I used on my card this year.  They really did a good job.  They are so easy to photograph now that they are older.  They know the drill. " Do it, so we can get it over with!"  Don't ask how I got them to hug!  It even looks sincere.

Not focused!  But it was their pose! They wanted me to take this one!

Egg-cellent Fun

This is one of the highlights of the Easter season for my children.  I started dying eggs with the kids when McKinley was about two.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  I was very pregnant with Ethan and we had the eggs on a short table so McKinley could reach.  I remember it wasn't that easy bending over.

Now that I have taken my trip down memory lane, I will move on.  This year my niece and nephew, Peyton and Paxton, came over to dye eggs with us.  Of course McKinley is like a little mama so she helped little Pax.  Peyton is a big girl so she had to do everything on her own.  They did a great job and had a lot of fun.  Paxton splashed all of us.  He didn't quite understand that you have the drop the egg in easily.  We hid the eggs on Easter!
