A New School

It is hard to believe that my baby will be going to a new school.  Ethan has been at my school for the past three years.  Next year he will go to the 2nd and 3rd grade school.  Our schools have such a large attendance area that the primary/elementary schools are divided into three schools.  This makes drop rather interesting in the mornings (for Curtis).

McKinley will move up the the 4th and 5th grade school.

Today Ethan's class as well as all the other first classes went to visit their new school.  Ethan is a little nervous about leaving his mama and I am going to miss seeing that sweet face next year.

Memorial Weekend

I am so glad that we had a three day weekend.  The weather has been absolutely beautiful.  We have spent our entire weekend near water (pool or beach).  The beach has been so busy so of course Curtis had to work the entire weekend.  The kids and I made the best of our weekend with out him.

On Sunday after church the kids had me take pictures of them jumping and diving into the pool.  They are so silly.

Sunday night McKinley and I sang a duet at our church.  It was one of  our favorites by J.J. Heller, Your Hands.  We have been practicing in the car for weeks.  So glad that God gave us this gift as a way to witness and share Him with others.

Today we spent the day at the beach with friends.  Ethan invited his friend Braydon and McKinley played with Ana.  My sister came with Peyton and Paxton too. It was a great day for the beach!  Looking forward to my last week of school!

Paxton just loves the beach!

Happy Memorial Day!

Mud Run

Well today I experienced my first mud run and had a blast!  A few weeks ago my friend Charlotte said that she wanted to have a team for the run so we quickly got one together. Anna B. and Anna K. hopped on board and the "Mud Divas"  were a team.

It was supposed to be a 3 mile run with obstacles but felt more like a 2 mile.  We had to run/wade through deep mud holes, crawl through mud puddles, run over three hills of different heights, hop through mud tire, hop over bails of hay, and finally trudge through a mud pit that felt like quick sand. This was the stickest mud that I had ever seen and it smelled terrible.  We smelled like stinky pigs by the end!

We are looking forward to our next mud run.  It wasn't as bad as we thought it was going be.  I really need to do more cardio workouts in preparation for the next one.

Bunco Fun

Tonight was my Bunco night for the month of May.  My friend Cindy hosted it at my house.  She did a great job.  The food was absolutely delicious.  We had to have several subs so I invited my sister and two of my work friends, Anna K. and Anna B.  We had a fabulous time with lots and lots of laughs.  It's great that we can get together and have some CLEAN fun.

We had lots of fun and some were even lucky enough to win prizes!  In the game of Bunco, it even pays to lose sometimes!  I would love to explain the rules of this game to you, but it would take a while and it is getting late.  It is a fun dice game where women get together and yell when they get three of a certain kind (BUNCO)!

Kim won the Low Game prize!

Anna B. won the High Game prize!

Brandy won the door prize!

And Dana won the High Bunco prize!

Field Day

We are having a heat wave!  The kids have had field day the last two days.  McKinley had it at her school yesterday and Ethan and I had it at our school today.  They both complained about how hot it was but a least they had lots of water games to cool them off.  McKinley's teacher was nice enough to send me a few pictures of her doing some field day games. I hate that we are at different schools.  I feel like I miss so much!  I got lots of picture of Ethan thanks to Mrs. Ellison.  She did a great job taking pictures for me.  He is really going to miss her next year.

Other than the heat all the kids had a great day at field day.  It is hard to believe that we only have 6 more days of school!  We are all looking forward to summer!!!

Riverdogs

Well tonight was the last game for the Riverdogs.  They tried really hard.  The first inning was rough but they came back in the second inning.  Ethan got a hit but wasn't happy because he didn't hit every time he was up to bat.  He is very hard on himself.  He had a pretty big cheering squad tonight.  Mrs. Ellison, his teacher, came with Mr. Ellison, Mrs. Janet, his Sunday school teacher, and his Uncle Matt came to cheer him on.

He hasn't figured out how to handle losing yet, but he will learn.  He really has had a great season and has learned so much about the rules of the sport.  We are proud of "OUR RIVERDOG!"

Look at those sad faces!

A Night with my Sister

I enjoyed a night out with my sister Janie tonight.  We went to see the movie Bridesmaids.  We both needed a good laugh.  I just love being friends with my little sis.  We are usually carrying four busy ones with us to the movies.  We just had popcorn and soft drinks for dinner.  Not very healthy but is was good anyway.  It was nice to come home to a quiet house.  Curtis had the kids down and they were asleep.  Looking forward to a busy week with my first graders.  Only nine days left.  It is bittersweet.

Couldn't resist!

Gotta Love the $2.50 popcorn.  That's a deal!

Wonderworks

This is such a cool building!
On Saturday the kids and I enjoyed going to Wonderworks with the Baeli family.  I have to say that this is a pretty neat place.  Luckily it was teacher appreciation month so I got in free and the kids got in at a discounted rate. It was a perfect day for this.  It wasn't crowded at all and we didn't have to wait in long lines.  The kids enjoyed checking out all the neat things.  The ropes course was a little rough for the kids.  I thought McKinley was going to wet her pants because she was so scared, but she faced her fears and made it through at least threee obstacles before she had had enough.  Anna and Andrew completed the entire course!  WOO-HOO!

Of course the sun was in our eyes!

They did it !!!

Boy that is some COLD water!

Afterwards we headed over to Mellow Mushroom for some lunch.

The kids and I walked around Broadway at the Beach for a little while just to see what all was there.  I don't know if we have ever just walked around there.  McKinley and Ethan were so sweet to each other all day.  I hope this continues because summer is just around the corner.
