Monday Madness

We have been super busy today.  McKinley is attending a half day camp, so we were all up very early (around 6:30ish)!  After camp we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom.  The stuffed mushroom is to die for!!

McKinley had to go to the dentist for a follow up appointment.  At her last  visit, the dentist was concerned that a cavity might be forming in one of her top back teeth.  Well of course she began to cry when it was time for her to go back.  She has never had a cavity before!  I told her to calm down until we found out what was going on.  I told her to wait until after the x-rays!  She got a good report.  The x-ray showed that a tooth was beginning to grow underneath that tooth which would evenually force that tooth out.  So the dentist told her that the tooth fairy would be coming to see her again soon and gave her a tooth fairy sticker. She was very happy with her report and left the office smiling!!!!

I completed 6 more pages in my scrapbook this evening!  I am finally finished with our 2011 Disney trip!  YEAH!!!

Dinner at the Crystal Palace!

Don't know what happened here!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

A Scrapbooking Weekend

I have totally neglected my scrapbooking lately!  So this weekend I decied to devote some of my time working on Ethan and McKinley's scrapbooks!  On Saturday night the kids and I joined my friend Callie and her kids and worked on our scrapbooks!

Check out our pages!

Last year this time we went to a convention in Raleigh and accomplished so much!  We decided that we better get busy if we were going to make the same progress this summer!

I think I can!  I think I can!

Callie's sweet husband, Fred, grilled us some hotdogs and hamburgers for dinner!

Fred, the grill master!

McKinley and Alyssa worked a little while on Alyssa's scrapbook but that didn't last long!

On Saturday I got 8 pages done and today McKinley and I completed 11 more!  I am so proud of my scrapbooking accomplishments!  I am going to try to do at least two a day for the rest of the summer!

This was a cute Easter layout Callie was working on!

I will post pictures of more layouts soon!

Shake It Up!

Last week McKinley and Ethan went to VBS at  Waterbrook Community Church.  I guess you can tell that my children just love VBS.  I can't think of any better thing for my children to be doing this summer!  I want them to hear God's word and teachings so they will know how to fight off the evil one!

The theme was" Shake it Up" (a cooking theme),  They learned that they are the "Salt of the Earth" and that they are supposed to grow love and peace.

During to week they took up canned foods for the hungry and the boys lost so Pastor Tom had to get whipped cream in his face.  The kids thought this was so funny!

All in all the kids had a great week and enjoyed spending time with their friends!

VBS- Big Apple Adventure

This week the kids and I are going to VBS at our church.  I am teaching 3rd and 4th graders as I have done for the past 7 or 8 years.  I love teaching children this age.  They are interesting in learning new things about God and  how much he loves us.  I am amazed at the knowledge these children know about God's word and how well they can memorize scripture!

Over the weekend the kids and I decorated my classroom.  They love to pitch in and help.  This is one of the hardest parts of being a VBS leader is trying to be creative with the decorating.  The children get so excited to see the room each year.

This year my room is supposed to look like "Battery Park" in NYC.  We all gather each day in a circle on the grass-like carpet and listen to the Bible story.  We have focused on Faith and Love so far this week!

McKinley and Ethan look forward to going each day and they don't whine because they have to get up early!

God is GOOD!!!

Happy Father's Day!

Today McKinley and Ethan spent the day with their dad!  They were so excited about giving him his father's day gifts.  They really liked the apron that we got him that said, "Dad, King of the Grill."  He wore it today when he grilled the steaks!  We also got him some new Sanuk flip flops and some shirts!

Curtis with his new apron!

World's Luckiest Dad!

After church my parents came over for lunch and we spent the afternoon on the back porch watching the rain.  We are so thankful the rain that God poured down on us today, but we could use a lot more!

Wishing all the fathers a Happy Father's Day!

Ashton and Justin's Wedding

Last weekend I went to Ashton and Justin's wedding.  I have known Ashton since she was in 4th grade.  It is hard to believe that she is now married.  She married her high school sweetheart, Justin.  They have been through so much together.  As she walked down the aisle the soloist sang "Butterfly Kisses".  It was very sweet.  You could see tears rolling out of her daddy's eyes.  She was "Daddy's Little Girl".

When they walked out the church the pianist played "Walking on Sunshine."  This was the first time I had ever heard this at a wedding.  It was a very sweet ceremony and they seem so happy!

Me with Cindy, Brittany, and Michele. (Brittany is getting married in September!)

We wish them the best of luck and Mr. and Mrs. Justin Alford!

It's hard to believe she is all GROWN-UP!

Ethan's Birthday Pool Party!

Today Ethan had several of his friends over for a birthday pool party.  They all had so much fun.  Some started swimming around one and the last one got out at 6.  They should be waterlogged after all that swimming.  His party was a sports theme so they played pool ball.  It was more like "keep away."

The Birthday Boy!

Batter UP!

Two peas in a pod!

All the kids seemed to have good time and he enjoyed seeing friends that he hadn't seen since school got out.  The pool is such a great way to entertain kids.  They don't seem to get bored with it!

Spencer and Grayson

Ethan can't wait to go to Wal-mart and spend his gift cards!  Thanks everyone!

Look at that Sweet Face!

And this one!

A friend of mine, Buffy, made the cake and it was delicious.

I told you this birthday celebration would last all week!
